ALL ROUND MAKEUP TIPS AND TRICKS

Title is a bit of a mouthful but I thought I would share with you guys, some of my personal favourite tips and tricks for all makeup! - most I find really useful or just interesting!

Nail tips

1) My nail varnish is constantly drying out, - Add a few drops of nail varnish remover and shake it up (Song reference!!!) until it is the desired thickness! - works a treat and has saved many of my nail varnishes from the bin!

2) If you plan on using it right away, DO NOT shake it. This will cause bubbles. Instead, roll between your palms for a minute or two. It's okay to shake, if you don't plan on using that polish for at least 10 minutes.
3) NEVER saw nails when filing, always go from the left inward, then the right inwards. Sawing will only cause your nails to break, lake and split.

Brushes/applicators

1) is one is sort of 2 parts. First is USE EYELASH CURLERS before applying mascara - the difference is insane but secondly is, warm your eyelash curlers up with your hairdryer for a couple of seconds to keep the curl in your lashes there for longer - Clever right?!!? Also, I have a £2.50 from Primark and it works wonders, so you don't need to splash out for the really expensive ones.

(On that note definitely do not curl your eyelashes after applying mascara, you can snap your eyelashes right off in the worst case scenario, and best case is that over time they will fall out more than normal, and be weakened. Amber :)

2) Avoid using stippling brushes to apply foundation as the bristles soak up too much of the product, I would recommend using your fingers so it glides over the skin easily , but then buff over your foundation whilst it is semi-wet for a flawless and airbrushed finish
3) use a concealer brush to apply lip products, it has a precise edge which gives a clear finish

4) opt for brushes with smaller handles - this lets you get closer to your face making your makeup more precise

 

 

Lips

1) smile when you apply lip products - this helps to reach all sections of your lips making sure there are no patchy or bare areas

2) use lip liners all over your lips for an intense and defined lip colour
3) The best/perfect shade for you will be the colour that matches the inside of your gums - a little brighter is good but avoid going lighter or you may look washed out

Eyes

1) when applying mascara fan your outer lashes out-wards, your middle lashes straight up and your inner lashes towards your nose

2) wearing glasses draws attention to your eye-brows, so ensure you groom your eyebrows well.

3) Draw out your eyeliner with a white eyeliner pencil first and go over it with the colour you want to use. The colour will appear more intense and last longer
